Biography:
Robin is the name adopted by several fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The original and arguably most well-known Robin is Dick Grayson, who first appeared in Detective Comics #38 (April 1940).
Dick Grayson was a young circus acrobat whose parents were murdered by criminals. Bruce Wayne, as Batman, took Grayson in as his ward and trained him to be his crime-fighting partner. Grayson's acrobatic skills and youthful energy provided a counterpoint to Batman's brooding demeanor.
Several other characters have taken on the mantle of Robin over the years, each with their own unique skills and personality. These include Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne. Each Robin has contributed to Batman's mission and added depth to the Batman mythos.
